IEC/BCC
1.1. Print Materials
production
-
Hiwot Ethiopia produce IEC materials
such as news papers, leaflets and posters on regular
bases and distributed them through the youth clubs
and schools to the young people and the community.
The material helps to transfer important/Key messages
on HIV/AIDS, SRH, Children's right and gender issues.

The Drama and music group in Hiwot
Ethiopia and partnering clubs prepare different issue
related dramas and music programs, talk show street
(outreach) programs. These issues related productions
are used for behavioral change communication. For
instance, the forum dramas are used to initiate discussion
and dialogues among young people (Peers), parents
and children, girls and boys etc.
1.3. Discussions,
dialogues and conversations

There are also intensive discussions,
dialogues among youth groups and parents which are
used as major behavioral change communication strategies.
We do have boys & girls group and parents group
dissuasions at Hiwot level and peer discussion and
dialogue at clubs level. The groups discuss and make
dialogue on gender issues such as masculinity and
gender equity, Sexuality, rights, acceptance, tolerance
etc. Parent covers and dialogue on issues related
to children.
1.4. Establishing
and strengthening SRH, HIV &AIDS Clubs
The involvement of Anti-AIDS and Sexual
Reproductive Health club leaders and members in disseminating
sexual reproductive health and HIV/AIDS information
and education among in and out of schools young peoples
and the community have been increasing from time to
time.
Apart from dissemination of HIV/AIDS
and Sexual Reproductive Health information and intensive
education clubs and its members were also involved in
Humanitarian Assistance (Care and Support, environment
protection activities and the like) and Income generating
activities.
